Where to begin. As someone who doesn’t have Lyme disease, I can’t even begin to imagine what it’s like to wake up with a condition that changes 100% of your life.
From not having the energy to get up out of bed to not being able to maintain your personality and relationships, it seems like it would be unbearable. Yet somehow, you have found a reason to get up every single day and to fight no matter how much it hurts. It’s amazing to see you smile even though I know that your best day is worse than my worst one. You’re such an example of strength, bravery, and resilience and there is so much that I can learn from you.
Whenever you’re feeling alone, please know that I am here. If you ever feel like a burden, you’re not. When you feel too weak to stand, I’ll be there to help lift you up. You inspire me and encourage me to be a better person. Even though your entire life has been completely changed since you got Lyme, you are still an incredible person, an amazing parent, and an outstanding friend. Please don’t ever forget that you’re stronger than you know.
During Lyme Awareness Month, we’re publishing #LymeLetters written by those affected by Lyme Disease. Be sure to check out the rest of the letters here and to follow us @LymeNow on Facebook and Instagram.
